The Comic Relief PayPal application is a stand alone application to process payments via paypal. The application provides all mobile, iphone app and android app payments for Comic Relief. It also processes all PayPal payments on the night of the big Red Nose Day or Sport Relief events. The application failed to handle the load the previous year so my main task while at Comic Relief was to make the PayPal Application more reliable and ensure that it was able to handle a high load. I stated by refactoring the code and adding test coverage (phpunit and selenium). The application performed great on the night taking over £2 Million for Sport Relief. Achieved high transaction of 76 per second on the night and passed loadtest up to 140.
